During the early 2000s, I embarked on a transformative journey where divine intervention profoundly impacted my life. In 2000 and 2001, I began to discern a compelling voice, which steadily grew stronger over time, urging me to heed its message. Seeking clarity, I turned to my pastor for guidance, who directed me to delve into three specific scriptures within the Bible. Initially, I found myself skeptical, convinced that these passages held no relevance to my own path.

However, life’s unforeseen trials began to unfold, marking a pivotal turning point. In 2007, I faced a severe health crisis, grappling with double walking pneumonia that brought me to the brink of death. The following year, an unfortunate workplace incident left me with a grave injury, endangering the very limb I depended on. By 2009, I underwent surgery on my left leg as a direct consequence of this traumatic event. Yet, amidst the throes of recovery, I encountered another blow as my employment was abruptly terminated by the company.

It was on January 1, 2010, that I received a profound calling to ministry, leading me to serve as an Associate Minister and Health and Grief Ministry Leader at The Fellowship Of Believers In Christ Church. Subsequently, I pursued higher education at Lancaster Bible College/MCUTS, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Science in 2016. Over the years, I also dedicated myself to acquiring specialized knowledge, participating in Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare’s Community Liaison program, which equipped me with invaluable insights into addressing various social challenges.

During my studies at Lancaster Bible College/MCUTS, an assignment prompted me to contemplate ways to make a tangible difference in the community. In 2014, amidst this introspection, the vision for “MISSION WITHIN THE CITY” was born, a name that resonated deeply within me. Finally, on September 23, 2022, I took the bold step of founding my company, driven by a profound commitment to societal change.

Recognizing the staggering number of Faith-Based Organizations in Memphis and beyond, my mission crystallized: to provide holistic support for the homeless population, empowering them to transcend their circumstances and rebuild their lives. I firmly believe that every individual deserves a chance at happiness and fulfillment, regardless of their past misfortunes. My vision extends beyond mere temporary assistance, aiming to implement sustainable, long-term solutions that address the multifaceted needs of those we serve.

Collaborating with Faith-Based Organizations across the United States and beyond, “MISSION WITHIN THE CITY” aims to establish a comprehensive program that offers shelter, sustenance, and support, guiding individuals and families towards a brighter future. Through our four-step program, we aspire to facilitate lasting transformation, empowering each individual to reclaim their dignity and purpose within society.
